Storage for commercial and industrial sites
Behind-the-meter batteries to control your peaks, make the most of your solar generation and secure your supply.
One battery, several sources of value
On an industrial or commercial site, returns rarely come from a single use. We identify the ones that apply to your site and combine them.
Peak shaving
The battery supplies power during peaks and lowers the billed maximum demand.
Solar self-consumption
Midday surplus is stored to cover evening and morning consumption.
Tariff optimisation
Charging in off-peak or low-price hours, discharging in expensive ones.
Flexibility revenue
Spare capacity can be monetised on the markets through an aggregator.
Constrained connection
Add fast chargers or new machinery without upgrading the grid connection.
Backup and islanding
Keeping critical loads and sensitive processes running during an outage.
It all starts with the load profile
Twelve months of 15-minute readings are enough to simulate how a battery would behave on your site, compare several sizes and put realistic numbers on the savings — before any commitment.
An installation that fits into your site
- Electrical integration. Connection at the main switchboard or at medium voltage, with suitable protection and metering.
- Siting. Outdoors or in a plant room, accounting for access, ventilation and fire protection.
- Control. An EMS coordinating the battery, solar PV, EV chargers and controllable loads.
- Business continuity. Works planned to minimise disruption to your operations.
Who is it for?
- Industry
- Sites with high demand peaks and outage-sensitive processes.
- Logistics and retail
- Large solar rooftops, refrigeration, electric vehicle fleets.
- Agriculture
- Significant solar generation and a constrained connection.
- Public bodies and infrastructure
- Public buildings, charging hubs, sites that need securing.

Frequently asked questions
What is C&I storage?
C&I stands for commercial and industrial. It refers to batteries installed behind a company's meter — cabinets or containers, from a few hundred kWh to several MWh — to cut electricity costs, make better use of on-site solar generation and secure the power supply.
How does a battery reduce a company's electricity bill?
In three ways: by shaving demand peaks, which weigh heavily in grid usage charges; by storing surplus solar generation for later use instead of exporting it at a low price; and by shifting part of the consumption to cheaper hours.
What data do you need to size a battery?
Ideally the site's 15-minute load profile over twelve months, electricity bills, connection characteristics and, where applicable, solar generation data. This information is usually available from your grid operator.
Can a battery power the site during a grid outage?
Yes, provided the installation is designed for it: islanded operation, a grid-disconnection device and a selection of loads to be backed up. This function has to be planned from the sizing stage.
Would a battery pay off on your site?
Send us your load profile: we will answer with numbers.
